Book review: Sex Object

Pass this one on.

To anyone who’s ever been catcalled, followed, flashed or made to feel unsafe (oh haiii sister!), this one’s for you.

Written by acclaimed feminist, Jessica Valenti, this is raw, confronting and powerful look at what it is to be a woman. Yet it’s no more than a true account of Valenti’s relatively normal life.

While it’s tempting to commend her bravery, Valenti is doing nothing special here, just telling it like it is.

Her experiences are probably similar to your own.

Pass this one on to your sister, your mother, your best friend or that girl you see on the tram every morning. No doubt she could use it too.
