First look: Shibui drops short film on our relationship with hair

It’s complicated.

Melbourne hair salon Shibui has created its own short film and if you ask us, it’s pretty damn impressive.

Shibui People focuses on the innate insecurities we have with our hair, also showing the way it contributes to our character.

The 90-second film features five personalities – an artist, blogger, design student, model and apprentice – and follows their internal monologues as each gets their hair cut.

It all relates back to the salon’s core ethos of embracing the imperfections and variables that make us all unique.

Rather than just bleaching/chopping/straightening your hair into oblivion, Shibui’s stylists work to bring out the best characteristics of your natural locks. This equals hair that’s easy to maintain and actually works with you, not against.

The best part is, we’ve managed to get a first look of the film and you can watch it below.
