Hair and makeup did.

Sewing, craft and creation hub, Thread Den, is offering workshops to turn you into a movie star. No acting skills required.

The Vintage Hair and Beauty workshops offer lessons in retro skincare and makeup application, overall grooming methods and tips on how to set hair. Of course, no 1940s look is complete without the hair.

The Melbourne studio, known for its lessons in sewing since opening in 2007, is making a foray into hair and makeup.

In three hours you will be taught the skills needed to perfect your pout and create killer finger waves. All you need to remember is to bring along your makeup and styling tools.

The 1940s workshop is being held on Sunday October 9.

Anyone can sign up, but we recommend becoming a Thread Den member first (it’s only $43 annually).
