Gone are the days of sharpy brows and heavily winged-out eyeliner. This season, the craze in makeup is all about looking au naturale.

The no makeup makeup look is by far our fave beauty trend; it’s built on skincare routines, good ingredients and a natural glow – everything us ladies should start investing in.

To make your life easier, here’s five of our favourite 'barely there' beauty products:

1.    Kiehl’s - Midnight Recovery Concentrate

Colder days bring dry 'n' flaky skin. And while oily formulas are a no-no under foundation, they are miracle workers at bedtime. This bottle of elixir is like an overnight facial treatment. Full of pure essential oils, your skin will wake up silky soft and hydrated.

2.    Mecca Cosmetic – Lit From Within Primer

A good primer means less work later on. Mecca’s own Lit From Within Primer is described as “beauty sleep in a bottle”, and indeed it is. The formula contains ultra-fine, light-diffusing particles and antioxidant protection that glides on like velvet. With an instant luminous glow, you almost don’t wanna wear foundation.

3.    Anastasia Beverly Hills – Brow Powder Duo

Natural brows never look pencilled in. So ditch your eyebrow crayons and use a powder that suits your hair colour instead. Apply with an angled brush in soft strokes and blend with a brush to soften the edges. Remember, brows are supposed to look like sisters, not twins.

4.    Chantecaille – Liquid Lumiere in Sheen

Consider a creamy illuminator your new best friend. This pearly pink shade is packed with light reflecting pigments that blur imperfections and even out skin tones. Although on the pricier side, the super lightweight texture comes with rewarding long-term anti-aging benefits. Apply to accentuate the cheekbones, nose bridge and cupids bow. A few dabs on the upper eyelids also works wonders as an instant brightener.

5.    Smashbox – Be Legendary Lipstick in Primrose

The ultimate your-lips-but-better shade. Rich in hydration, the texture almost feels like a lip smacker but non-sticky. The colour is so subtle, you don’t even need a mirror to apply.

Alternatively, Too Faced’s The Secret To No Makeup Makeup is a complete kit to looking flawless on the go with concealer, luminiser, brightener, powder blush, crème blush and bronzer.

Too easy.
