Of course Rihanna looks like a golden goddess while wedged between the jaws of a shark.

In a shoot where badgalriri swims with real sharks (not just fake ones), Rihanna sports a natural, sultry beauty look that we are coveting.

Harper’s asked Napoleon Perdis how he created the look for the cover and shoot, so we’re here to help break it down for you.

Step 1: Skin

Prep your skin with a hydrating milk cleanser. Massaging the product onto your face will help stimulate blood flow, and make your complexion appear plumper. Finish off with a serum.

Step 2: Priming

Napoleon used the Auto Pilot Pre Foundation Skin Primer all over. Priming the skin helps the foundation look fresh and last longer, and minimises visible pores and uneven skin texture.

Step 3: Brows/Mascara

Let the primer sink in while you define your brows and apply mascara. Napoleon shaped the brows with the Eyebrow Pencil in Chocoholic, and combed them through with a spoolie. He then coated the lashes with the Long Black Mascara, wiggling the brush outwards to create a fan effect.

Step 4: Base

Napoleon mixed The One Concealer and The One Concealer Light to brighten under the eye. Feathering it on with a brush will prevent the product from creasing or caking. Tap the Stroke of Genius Liquid Cashmere Foundation onto the centre of your face and blend outwards with a brush. Dust the Camera Finish Powder Foundation over any areas that tend to get shiny.

Step 5: Cheeks

This is where The Ultimate Contour Palette comes in. Pop the highlight shade on the tops of your cheekbones, the rosy blush onto the apples of your cheeks, and the contour shade in the hollows of your cheekbones.

Step 6: Eyes

The fun part - Rihanna’s metallic eye. Using the Prismatic Eye Shadow Quad #13, Napoleon blended a chocolate shadow close to the lashline, and a shimmery mocha-taupe shade all over the mobile lid and through the crease. He highlighted the inner corner with a creamy pink-gold shadow from the same palette, and smudged a black kohl pencil liner through the upper and lower lash lines. He then added a bit of warmth to the eye by contouring the socket with the Color Disc in Tequila Sunrise, a matte orange, and finished off with another coat of mascara.

Step 7: Lips

After applying a lip balm, Napoleon used the Mattetastic Lipstick in Grace, a deep rose. Touch up with a lip liner if needed.

Voilà! Now you’re a babin’ golden goddess. If you can get your hands on that Balmain jumpsuit though, you've nailed this tutorial.
