Role description
High End Designer RACHEL GILBERT is currently looking for a fabulous new Team Member to assist the design team at our Alexandria head office.
We are looking for applicants with a love of fashion and a strong desire to work for a leading Australian designer.
The internship will be a 1-2 day commitment over a 3 month period. Immediate start is preferable.
What the internship will entail and the skills you will learn;

  • Assist with the development of technical packs to send to offshore suppliers
  • Specification measuring of samples
  • Tracing and labelling patterns for pattern archive
  • Assist with embroidery & embellishment design markers
  • Seasonal storyboard development
  • Sketching and technical drawing (by hand/ Illustrator)
  • Hand finishing of gowns using couture finishing techniques

Skills and experience the ideal candidate requires;

  • Currently studying (must be 2nd Year+) or recently completed a Degree in Fashion
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator/ Photoshop & InDesign) Preferred skill
  • High attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic and resourceful
  • Ability to follow instructions & meet deadlines
  • Basic pattern making knowledge Preferred skill
  • Previous internship experience with a high end designer Preferred
