If you’ve never heard of Jillian Boustred you’ll want to get to know her and her eponymous label.

Boustred is an emerging Sydney-based designer and artist who uses her garments as a canvas for her works.

All Boustred’s prints are created in her Sydney studio and employ hand-generated techniques like painting and drawing. The prints are subsequently translated onto fabric and then made into her structured garments, all here in Aus.

Jillian Boustred’s Autumn/Winter ‘16 collection is definitely her strongest so far. Each piece is extremely versatile. Skivvies, v-necks, flares and loose midi-skirts make welcomed appearances, and can be worn on their own or teamed up as an under or over garment. Along with the deep-sea blues, looping lines and blurred coral patterns, there is a solid element of flow to the collection.

All this amounts to a lovely fusion of chic, arty and sophisticated. Think Ellery meets Gorman meets Búl and you’ve got yourself Jillian Boustred.

Be sure to keep and eye out when the collection hits her online store.
