The grittiness of grunge wear and the casual style of surfwear wouldn’t be our first choice of design mashups, but Misfit Apparel is making it work.

This month’s debut drop, appropriately titled Season 1, is the Sydney surf brand’s next design move.

Taking inspiration from its art-inspired surfboards, the line is something a little different from your standard boardies and singlets. Think button-up shirts and a more streetwear aesthetic.

Photographed inside derelict dwellings, the campaign focuses on grungy yet polished design, that’s perfect for everyday wear.

The line is available at selected retailers and online from August 15.
