Last night’s MSFW: Designer Runway One was everything you dreamed of as a little girl.

Last night’s MSFW: Designer Runway One was everything you dreamed of as a little girl.

The orchestral accompanied runway saw a dreamlike procession of couture and ready-to-wear pieces, as each designer offered their unique spin on the evening’s romantic theme.

Traditional conceptions honoured an ethereal aesthetic, with demure palettes, delicate embellishments, sheer highlights and ultra-feminine silhouettes.

These were juxtaposed with darker interpretations of the theme, delivering an “evil queen” aura with dark regal hues, laser-cut detailing, ultra-high slits and dramatic silhouettes.

A whimsical spin saw pastel three-piece suits and decorated tutus, while more modern conceptions of romance were captured using structured draping and masculine aesthetics.

Our childhood and adult selves approve.
