We go behind the scenes.

Melbourne Spring Fashion Week kicks of next week (!!) and we’re pretty excited. As you can imagine, the event’s organisers, employees and volunteers are busy putting the final touches on the runways.

But have you ever wondered how it all comes together? MSFW Contemporary Runway stylist, Jade Leung, has clued us in. She’s documented a day in her life prepping for MSFW, and it’s just as busy as you’d imagine.

7am: Wake. Reach for phone. First refresh of emails.

7.30am: Morning walk… to a coffee. Think about who else I might have forgotten to respond to via email/text/whatever other million platform.

8.45am: Get home. Second refresh of emails. Read and respond. Get distracted on Snapchat.

9.15am: Shower. MUST BRUSH HAIR TODAY. Iron shirt/get ready.

10am: Prep/re-read hair and makeup trial notes before heading to Mecca HQ.

10.45am: Arrive at Mecca HQ for makeup trials. More emails. First phone re-charge already! It’s gonna be a big, battery-draining day. Make some funnies with the makeup artists. SNAPCHATS!!

12pm: FJ photographer James arrives to capture the action.

1pm: Makeup trials complete. Move on to hair trials with the Kevin Murphy team. Get an important lesson on the many uses of bandage tape (thank you Kevin!).

1.30pm: Hair trials complete.

2pm: Race to Carlton to see a designer and pick up product.

2.15pm: Arrive late for lunch at Smith Street Alimentari. Proseccos buy forgiveness! Make some more funnies.

3.30pm: Wrap lunch. Farewell James. Dash across the road to the record store (a non MSFW-related errand). Tend to more emails. Charge phone, AGAIN.

4pm: Go see the Neo Dia team to discuss final runway looks and order (their collection is a Snapchat-ers dream!!).

5.30pm: Head back to The Ranch for more Proseccos and (endless) emails.

Total Emails: 63.
Total funnies made: between 40-50.
Total Snapchats: 12.
Total phone charges: three.
Total coffees consumed: three.
Total Proseccos: four… maybe six (depends when you end the count).

Curating the exhibitions, seminars, runways and parties just for you.
All long limbs and nervous faces.
“Do you prefer ‘fashion victim’ or ‘ensemble-y challenged?’”
They aren't holding anything back...
All summer vibes and bangers.
Bit of rock and roll glam for your afternoon.
The essence of spring.
A work experience opportunity like no other.
Pretty things, pretty people.
Think geometric shapes, colour blocking and layers.
There's something in the water over at RMIT.
Lui Hon's latest collection is simply beautiful
Nike just did it and it was pretty rad.
With a line up reading as an “It List” of Australian talent and an in demand theme of minimalism, Wednesday’s MSFW: Designer...
Last night’s MSFW: Designer Runway One was everything you dreamed of as a little girl.
Are you really, really ridiculously good looking yet still remain unsigned?
Melbourne Spring Fashion Week is a wonderful time of year.
Stevie Dance’s story is pretty much a fashion industry fairytale.
