These days, a modern day Disney movie would involve a text message, netflix, takeout and chills. Gone are the melodies of pumpkin coaches, talking fish, dreamy men and falling in love after a simple hello.
But hey, people don’t forget.
Artist Jirka Väätäinen has made the Disney generation's dreams a reality, imagining what said princes would look like as real humans. The result? Simultaneously nostalgic and disconcertingly hot…no complaints.
Admitting that “having grown up with lot of these characters made it such a fascinating and fun personal project to explore and carry on with,” Väätäinen’s prince series follows his last pursuit at humanising Ursula and the Disney princesses. Each illustration is a mystical blend of real-life photos finished off with digital painting thanks to the modern day fairy godmother, Photoshop.
All of Väätäinen’s creations are up for critique on his website, but take a look at the works which are sending us up the wall. So dreamy.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo.
