A Final Fantasy character is the face of Louis Vuitton’s new campaign

Nerds rejoice.

In an interesting and largely surprising move, Louis Vuitton has cast a video game character as the face of its latest campaign. 

Creative director Nicolas Ghesquière unveiled the new images on his Instagram last night, revealing Final Fantasy character, Lightning, as the face of Series 4. 

Created in partnership with notable Square Enix artist and designer Tetsuya Nomura, the images were shot with home-grown model, Fernanda Ly. Ly opened Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2016 runway show earlier this year. 

In addition to the imagery, the LV x Final Fantasy team has also produced a campaign video.
