This year, Levi’s is turning 140. But that’s not all, it’s also the 100th anniversary of Levi’s affiliation with denim factory Cone Mills. Time to partayyy.
In celebration of its rich history and enduring appeal, Levi’s has released a three-part doco with its original jean, the Levi’s 501, as the focal point. The 501 Jean: Stories of an Original traces the key themes of the Levi’s brand in Work, Style and Rebellion.
The docos take us on a Levi’s history tour, showing us the people, places and happenings that inspired and continue to inspire the brand.
From its utilitarian beginnings as hardy workwear for miners in the Californian Gold Rush, Levi’s has now morphed into a style icon that oozes effortless cool and practicality. The history of Levi’s 501s is as magnetising as the jeans themselves.
