This online retailer actually used the term “Rape Us Now” to promote its sale

Never okay.

With the mass amount of online retailers and huge international sale days such as Click Frenzy, it’s no surprise some brands are trying to stand out.

Unfortunately though, one retailer has used a pretty awful tactic in promoting its Black Friday sale.

Singapore-based e-retailer, SuperGurl, is facing a huge amount of backlash after their website and socials published artwork with suggestive imagery and a shop now link which said “rape us now.”

Quickly taken down after much uproar, the brand’s creative director Jordus Lim seemed to shift the blame onto the team’s graphic designer.

“I have failed to review my Graphic Designer’s work before approving the image to be displayed on our site,” Lim said in his apology.

The image has since been removed, but of course, not before it could be captured and shared by multiple people.
