Adelaide Fashion Festival celebrates its official launch

AFF already has us like…

The new-look Adelaide Fashion Festival (AFF) celebrated its official launch earlier this week, and boy did it mark the beginning of an exciting program. The four-day festival is set to shine light on some of South Australia’s very best designers from 22-25th October.

Opening night was located at vintage New York-style restaurant, Sean’s Kitchen, where guests set eyes on the runway release of emerging Adelaide brand TY-LR.

The works of renowned photographer Georges Antoni also made quite the appearence, providing a sneak peek into what is yet to come for the festival.

General Manager of Events South Australia, Hitaf Rasheed, said “The Adelaide Fashion Festival will showcase South Australia’s growing local fashion industry with the opportunity for design houses to show their works on the international and national stage.”

The action will take place at a pop-up headquarters in Hindmarsh Square, AFF Runway, with a combination of established and up-and-coming designers set to take the stage. Events to keep an eye out for are A Night of Fashion, Variety on King William for fashion and fine dining, and Parades on Norwood Parade.

On the runway we can expect Paolo Sebastian, who’s designed for red carpets from Cannes to the Oscars, the mod and timeless styles of Sally Philips, the effortlessly chic fabrics and patterns from Liza Emanuele and the art fashion fusion that is Tiff Manuell. Brands like C/MEO Collective, Lexi Label, Acler, SIG by Kate Anderson and Casper&Pearl will also feature their more laid-back, treanseasonal and fashion-forward styles, with pieces available for immediate purchase. You can view the full program here.

When it comes to fashion, Adelaide is showing us that it really has no borders.
