Art Comes First touches down in Melbourne for collab with The Social Studio

Kind of a big deal.

If you haven’t heard of Art Comes First, they’re kind of a big deal. The world renowned, London-based fashion design duo has worked on collaborations with Kanye West, Mos Def, Fred Perry, Ozwald Boateng, The Kooples, Spencer Hart and a whole lot more.

And if you haven’t heard of The Social Studio, they’re pretty great. They’re a non-profit social enterprise that operates to generate long-term social change for adolescents that face barriers to employment and education.

So it’s pretty big news that The Social Studio has announced a collaboration with Art Comes First, to be showcased in series of events around Melbourne Spring Fashion Week this weekend. It kicks off this evening, when an exclusive guest list of 30 people will unite over an African banquet, sharing a conversation with ACF about the importance of creative collaboration, craftsmanship and their expertise in the field.

ACF will also be curating and showcasing the collection they created with The Social Studio. The exhibition will run from August 25 to 29 at No Vacancy Gallery in QV. The show will be a walk-through that celebrates fashion and up-cycling with a global focus.

The collaboration will conclude with the main event on Sunday August 30 at 7.30pm with performances by Coco Noir and a special guest appearance by ACF.

Be sure to check out these events to eye off the ACF crew, and to support the amazing work of The Social Studio.
