Attention emerging designers, Project NextGen wants to launch your career

And they’re pulling out all stops.

Calling all emerging Australian designers. Thanks to IMG’s Project NextGen, you’re about to get the opportunity of a lifetime.

Project NextGen is a newly-launched program created to support and mentor young talent in the fashion design industry. It builds on the New Generation show that happens each year at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, which has debuted designers like Kate Sylvester, Gorman, Sass and Bide and Akira.

Participating designers will be selected by a panel of fashion heavyweights, and it’s certainly an all-star line up. Think Edwina McCann (Editor-In-Chief Vogue Australia), Kellie Hush (Editor-In-Chief Harper’s Bazaar Australia), Justin O’Shea (Buying Director mytheresa.com), Emily Weight (Director Fashion IMG Australia), Eva Galambos (Director & Buyer Parlour X) and Chris Buchanan (General Manager, Ellery).

Together they will review the applicants based on the fashion-killer skills they bring to the table and their promise for the future.

The six lucky peeps chosen as finalists will be invited to be part of the St. George NextGen runway show at the Sydney’s Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week in May 2016, showcasing their talent to an audience of local and international media and buyers.

For the winners, amazing networking opportunities and exposure is only the beginning. On top of landing a fully funded runway show in the MBFWA line-up, the winning designers will be mentored by a St. George business advisor for a 12 month period.
