The dressmaking behind The Dressmaker

Words by

Eliza Sholly

The Dressmaker is one of those movies that has everything we could ever ask for: the Australian landscape, a beautiful leading lady, a topless Liam Hemsworth and a killer costume department.

To celebrate these amazing costume moments, the National Trust’s Ripponlea Estate will hold The Dressmaker Costume Exhibition from April 22, 2016.

Developed by The National Trust Victoria, the exhibition takes you into the inner world of the costume department, showcasing footage of the clothes being created. Visitors will also get to hear behind the scenes stories about the creative process and artistry behind each piece.

The Dressmaker Costume Exhibition will run from April 22 until July 31 2016 at Ripponlea House and Gardens, 192 Hotham St, Elsternwick Victoria.
