Eytys announces the arrival of a genderless denim collection

WORDS BY TARA SMITH

A first for the brand.

Swedish footwear label Eytys is branching out into clothing, with the announcement of a genderless denim collection.

In keeping with the brand’s unisex approach to footwear, the collection aims to appeal to anyone. 12 new styles of jeans will roll out from tomorrow, coming under three distinct categories.

There’s the ‘Cypress’, a slim-fit jean with a medium-high waist, the ‘Boyle’, a cropped culotte style, and the ‘Benz’, featuring a longer, baggy silhouette.

The designs favour fabrics like Japanese raw denim and wool twill, and feature contrast stitching throughout. Creative Director Max Schiller described the collection to Business of Fashion as “genderless, refined workwear. No stretch. No wash. Not distressed.”

The accompanying campaign plays on vintage denim advertising, fitting with the ’90s aesthetic of the jeans.

Seven items from the collection will launch online tomorrow, while the rest will be available in March 2018.

Until then, check out the campaign above.
