Following the footsteps of Marilyn Manson, Daft Punk and Courtney Love, legendary singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell has turned to modelling for Saint Laurent's latest campaign.
Seemingly more a portrait series than a fashion campaign, Mitchell inimitably suits the label's current Woodstock aesthetic. It's a natural fit; Mitchell was one of the defining voices of the sixties and seventies.
Adding to the organic nature of the images, Creative Director Hedi Slimane chose to frame Mitchell in her own home. She wears the same Saint Laurent "folk tunic", custom leather cape and wide brimmed hat, along with a serene (or perhaps sombre?) expression in all three campaign images.
We can expect to see more pics released over the next month.
