60 years young and still growing strong.

At an age where most have well and truly stopped growing, sexagenarian marimekko shows no signs of slowing down. The iconic Finnish design company celebrated the arrival of their third Australian store this morning, with doors opening at Melbourne’s Emporium.

Angling away from previous stores, the Emporium boutique is more fashion focused, with less emphasis on the label’s much loved printed fabrics and homewares. A pared-back interior and extensive shelving showcase the original prints across a graphic range of bags, apparel and accessories, while individual stations deliver a more limited homewares offering. Inside you’ll also find a number of Australian exclusives, including the already-established Babushka print.

Despite over 60 years in the game, take this as proof that marrimeko is more than just a mainstay.
