Microsoft and Whitehouse have teamed up for an illustration competition at MBFWA

Luck of the draw.

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia is in full swing people, with many events still popping up across the board.

To celebrate the major partnership between Microsoft Surface and MBFWA, the Microsoft Flagship store in Sydney has collaborated with students at Whitehouse Institute of Design, showcasing the beauty of fashion design through the lens of technology.

Four of the institute’s talented fashion designers were given the chance to create an original illustration on a Surface Pro 4, competing to win a trip to New York Fashion Week in September.

The Pitt St Microsoft Store will showcase the works of art, where customers can experience some innovative events:

Thursday May 19, 12-2pm

Watch the four Whitehouse Institute students create beautiful live drawings, sharing their inspirations and reveal special techniques on mastering the art of illustrations.

Friday May 20 to Saturday May 21, 12-4pm and Sunday May 22, 1-4pm

Hear from the designers about the design journey behind their creations. Using the Surface Pen and Surface Pro 4, they will also demonstrate insider tips and tricks to using a digital platform to create works of art.

Fans will also have the chance to win a ticket to the mecca that is New York Fashion Week. Simply ‘like’ the Microsoft store Facebook page, vote for your favourite illustration and explain why you selected it. The most creative response will fly to NYC in September, accompanied by the highest-voted illustrator.

This type of competition doesn’t come around often, so if you’re as into fashion and technology as we are, the comment section awaits.
