A less traditional side to student design.

Following a very impressive design lineup at the Emerging Collective Runway, Melbourne Town Hall was again buzzing for the much-anticipated Emerging RMIT Runway.

Always one to spark conversation, the RMIT runway went beyond expectations with an incredible showcase of young talent.

This year’s collections showed us a less traditional side to student design. We saw clear themes running throughout the students’ work, including a heavy Victorian influence and a surprisingly restrained colour palette.

The evening also saw the announcement of Emerging Designer Award winner, Stephanie Henly. Stephanie was selected for her painstakingly artisanal approach to design.

Those keen to catch more of the students' work should swing by the RMIT Emerging Designer Showcase or the Creative Collective exhibition, where pieces from the five Emerging Designer Award finalists will be on display throughout the week.

You can view the rest of the program here.
