A classic.

Everyone needs a woollen jumper in their wardrobes and McIntyre has just about perfected the classic.

Drawing inspiration from family lineage and old-world craftsmanship, the label has reinvigorated the classic woollen jumper.

Founder Ned Scholfield grew up on a Merino sheep farm, so Merino wool has always been important to him.

“The farm is still in our family today and has been growing Merino sheep for over 150 years,” he tells us.

“I have always loved wool because it is such a luxurious, versatile fibre that keeps you warm in winter and cool in summer. I guess I started McIntyre to tell everyone about this!”

After time spent in the fashion industry, Ned decided he wanted to introduce wool to a new generation.

“Working in the industry, what I found surprising was that while we produce so much of the raw wool product, there isn't an iconic Australian wool brand that stands out to me."

McIntyre’s designs are made in Melbourne, using 100 per cent Australian wool. The pieces are also breathable, as well as static, odour and wrinkle resistant.

“The jumpers are amazing quality wool,” says Ned. “They aren’t scratchy at all and they keep you warm, but are breathable. They are also machine washable and biodegradable, which means they are better for the environment.”

You can shop your own McIntyre jumper online, at The Iconic and at The Waiting Room in Sydney and Melbourne.
