Book review: The Art of Gratitude

I really, really do not want to sound like a cynic here.

I really, really do not want to sound like a cynic here, but please. Are there no words more loathsome than “you can choose happiness!”?

Art of Gratitude reads just like a blown up version of that statement. Bordering on preachy, it’s saved by two elements.

One, it has Meredith Gaston’s beautiful illustrations woven throughout. Two, it has empty spaces to allow the reader to fill in the blanks, undertaking a little written self-refection.

Yes, it’s undeniable this is a beautiful little hardback and admittedly, there is some fantastic advice here.

But perhaps I need to practise a little more gratitude, because no thanks Meredith. Not for me.
