Way back in 2016, we were delighted to hear that Tina Fey was working on a Mean Girls musical.
And while the news was grool, Fey also told us we’d have to wait years before the show saw the light of day.
Fast forward to now and we finally know when Mean Girls The Musical will be hitting theatres. And it’s sooner than we thought.
The production will kick off at Washington DC’s National Theatre on October 31. Of THIS year.
If you have any doubts about it being fetch, then take solace in the fact that Fey has taken care of the script and her hubby Jeff Richmond is handling the score. Legally Blonde lyricist Nell Benjamin has been tasked with producing the songs, while director of Aladdin and The Book of Mormon, Casey Nicholaw, is directing the show.
It's basically going to be the equivalent of a cake filled with rainbows and smiles.
The musical will head to NYC Broadway in April of 2018. Tickets to the DC run are available here.
Time to book flights.
