NGV is proving once again that it’s nothing like other stuffy art galleries by hosting another Art Party for the teens of Melbourne.
This event will coincide with the Dior and Hokusai exhibitions, promising one unforgettable experience.
Students aged 13-17 are invited to this exclusive, after-hours party where there will be live DJs and pop-up art workshops.
Among other activities, attendees will be able to create their own fashion illustrations, which no doubt will be inspired by the magnificent Dior pieces on display. Melbourne fashion illustrator Nicole Onslow will also be there to nourish the burgeoning talent, as well as create sketches of some lucky participants.
Those inspired by the prolific artist Hokusai can spend the night developing frame-by-frame manga animations with iPads inside the Hokusai exhibition space.
But if you’re a teen who prefers to appreciate art rather than participate in its creation, then fear not. You can have an in depth exhibition tour with teen guides.
And if that’s not enough, attendees can indulge in the multi-sensory experience with Japanese and French inspired catering. Enjoy sushi, noodles, baguettes and croissants as well as exclusive gelato flavours from Pidapipo Gelateria.
Tickets are available from the NGV website.
