Grimes is a dream girl playing dress-ups in her latest clip for ‘California’

Our favourite pixie-like dream girl has just dropped her self-directed video clip for ‘California.’

The video clip is a surreal pop dress-up party starring Grimes, produced with the help of her brother.

Last year Grimes revealed the true meaning behind the song, stating it’s a “hate track to Pitchfork,” but the video clip is a whole different take.

She dances around in the clip under the various guises of a beret-wearing art student, all-American cowgirl and ribbon-twirling basketball player. Or so we’ve gathered.

It’s a colourful dream world that kinda makes us want to jump back into the dress-up box we played in as kids.
