Just because love is complicated, doesn’t mean your next song to play on repeat should be.
LA-based Australian songwriter, George Maple, just released her new single ‘Lover’ and a vid to go with.
Following from the anthem ‘Sticks and Horses’ feat Goldlink, ‘Lover’ delivers the same kind of sultriness we expect from Maple.
If there wasn’t enough visual appeal in Maple’s first video, this one stars supermodel friend Jordan Barrett. Thanks coming your way, Maple.
Directed by fashion photographer Darren McDonald, the video features rain, some guys fighting and Maple looking hot in an equestrian centre.
Some things haven’t changed since we last caught up with Maple. Still into PVC and latex, the video features some killer leather pants.
The smooth vocals paired with gritty visuals capture the primal, raw love Maple attempts to channel in her lyrics.
“I wanted to capture the beauty in the primal obsession of love. Messy love. Destructive love. The dopamine effect. The power of loss or struggle and what it drives humans to do,” she said.
Though she may have wrapped up her Australian tour in July, she’s heading back Down Under to play at Perth’s Origin Festival and the 2017 FOMO Festival.
