Sweet-voiced bae, Lisa Mitchell, announces new album

Prepare for ‘Warriors’.

Prepare for fairy-floss level sweet vocals. Lisa Mitchell has announced a new album, dropping October 14.

We met Lisa when she was a ripe 17 years old, with the release of her debut EP. Now – a little older, a little wiser, a little more technically advance – Warriors marks Lisa’s third studio album release.

“This album is personal,” says Mitchell. “There’s a lot of thinking about my own kind of mythology – of myself, my life, why things are the way they are. And a lot of it is to do with childhood.”

Morning listeners to Triple J got a taste of the album this morning, with first single ‘The Boys’ premiering on the station.

If you missed the single’s airtime, you can listen along with the music video below.

It was shot in Lisa’s hometown of Albury in rural NSW, a place that Lisa cites as inspiration for the album.

To coincide with the release of ‘The Boys’, Lisa will be performing live with her new band, on a handful of dates with Grouplove in Sydney and Melbourne this month.
