Lykke Li’s third album will make you depressed, but that kind of depressed that is pretty cathartic.

This was recorded as a break-up album and it sounds like it – the Swedish musician has always leant towards the eerie and experimental side of pop music and I Never Learn takes that to another level.

There’s a lot of ‘80s influences in the mix, ‘No Rest For The Wicked’ sounds like a Kate Bush song in the best possible way and ‘Never Gonna Love Again’ has some Bonnie Tyler vibes that I was not sad about.

whole album will make you wear floaty dresses and light candles and explore caves/your soul and, it has to be said, Lykke’s voice continues to sound insanely amazing. I can imagine a teenager listening to ‘Love Me Like I’m Not Made of Stone’ on repeat and crying silently in their room and I can give no higher praise than that.
