How-to: Festive Christmas Day makeup

Santa baby.

Christmas Day is a bit of a marathon and between all the commuting and eating and pressie opening, you don’t really want to be worrying about your makeup wearing off.

Global Makeup Artist for Napoleon Perdis, Shev Kelly, has pulled together an easy festive makeup look, that’ll go the long yards.

Step one: Prep and prime

Start the look off with some extra TLC, using a serum which boosts hydration levels. Then, apply a mattifying primer all over the skin to keep your base in place.

Step two: Lashes and brows

Open the eyes and add drama by applying jet black mascara to the upper and lower lashes. Blend a brow pencil through the brows to add shape and texture.

Step three: Base

Give the skin a flawless finish using a matte foundation and creamy concealer, then set with a pressed powder to keep your look on for longer.

Step four: Cheeks

Sculpt and define the cheekbones, temples and hairline using a matte bronzer. Add luminosity and highlight the skin using Light Switch Luminizer Palette.

Step five: Eyes

Add warmth to the eye with a light application of bronzer through the sockets of the eye, blending upwards and outwards for a fused finish. Next, add a touch of sparkle to the eyelid using a gold metallic shadow – the trick is to pat and press the eyeshadow for an opaque finish. Line and lift your eyes using a black liquid liner on the top lash line.

Step six: Lips

Create a classic red pout by generously coating your lips with a creamy red lipstick, then to ensure the edge is crisp and clean, line lips last using a matching red lip pencil.

Extras

Give your eyes a flirty finish by adding a set of lashes to your eyes.
