MAC x Selena Quintanilla to be released thanks to online petition

Selena Quintanilla may have passed away 20 years ago, but her fans’ devotion is still going strong. MAC has just announced that they will be creating a collection dedicated to the Latin singer, and inspired by her fans. It’s all because of a change.org petition which lobbied for the cosmetics giant “To release a ‘Selena Quintanilla for MAC’ limited edition collection.”

It’s hard to believe that a simple online petition could get the attention of MAC, but we guess 37, 000 signatures is pretty hard to ignore. Selena’s sister, Suzette Quintanilla, said that Selena had dreamed of having her own make-up line, a dream that was cut short by her tragic murder in 1995. Thanks to her fans and MAC, this addition to her legacy will soon be a reality.

Selena Quintanilla for MAC is set to be released late next year, so the products on offer are a tight-lipped secret for the moment. But with Selena as inspiration it is sure to be colourful, bold and full to the brim with her fans’ passion.
