Key Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Merchandise Director, develop a seasonal strategy for Aje, identifying key opportunities and tactical plans to deliver on financial goals.
- Under the direction of Merchandise Director, responsible for collaborating with Design to develop a cohesive and commercially viable product range that aligns with Brand strategy and maximises sales and profitability of Aje.
- Ensure proposition delivers required domestic and international growth and maintains an understanding of requirements of new markets.
- Partner closely with Head of Planning and Planning team to build robust sales, inventory, and option plan to drive commercial results to hit financial KPIs.
- Manage OTB to meet financial targets for sales, inventory and sell-though.
- Conduct and report accurate sales and margin analysis and respond to future seasons with dynamic actions to drive and exceed future sales expectations.
- Accountable for driving trade on a daily and weekly basis, chasing into strong reactions, and relentlessly seeding new ideas.
- Build and execute a balanced, customer-focused range, collaborating with the Design team to ensure the product range is innovative and newness is suitable for the needs of all business channels and grades.
- Execute pre-season planning, alongside Head of Planning, making recommendations for investment quantities that support the commercial plan and financial goals.
- Work in collaboration with Merchandise Director and Head of Planning, to influence strategic plans and developments.
- Influence assortment building through product analysis, customer feedback, consumer trends and the competitive landscape.
- A thorough understanding of all weekly and daily trade reports, analysing sales performance and monitoring sell-throughs, proposing and executing trading actions to improve sales performance and reduce risk to the business.
- Lead PSR and category reviews with Design, Business and Executive teams, present findings and recommendations for future strategy
- Manage, mentor, development of Buyers Assistant
- Ensures effective communication with the wider Buying and Planning team
KEY SKILLS
- An established Buyer with 5+ years of relevant experience and an entrepreneurial spirit that can perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with Australian luxury designers and/or in-house design team is highly desirable.
- Exceptional understanding of the fashion retail market, with the ability to interpret trends and build ranges to ensure brand cohesion.
- Strong numeric and analytic aptitude, including in-depth understanding of the Open-To-Buy and the financial metrics that drive it.
- Excellent excel skills; ability to build own reports, demonstrated aptitude for leveraging and learning new technology and tools.
- Highly organised, keen learner and self-motivated, ability to work well to deadlines and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.
- Previous experience with AP21, JOOR, and Style Arcade preferable.
