Based at our Sydney Head Office and reporting directly to the Head of Merchandising, this role will see you responsible for creating and executing buying strategies for Aje and Aje Athletica that deliver sales and profit growth across all channels, whilst managing the buying of Aje and collaborating with the Buyer of Aje Athletica to guide selections, ensuring the assortment is balanced and product mix is optimised.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing seasonal strategy for Aje and Aje Athletica, identifying key opportunities and tactical plans to deliver on financial goals
- Building and executing a balanced, customer focused range, collaborating with Design team to ensure the product range is innovative and newness is suitable for the needs of all business channels and grades
- Partnering with Merchandise Planning Manager to build robust sales, inventory and option plans to drive commercial results to hit financial KPIs
- Collaborating with Design to develop a cohesive and commercially viable product range that aligns with Brand strategy and maximises sales and profitability of Aje and Athletica
- Optimising the buying processes by identifying opportunities and present actionable solutions to Head of Merchandise.
- Leading, managing and coaching buying team and influence cross functionality to ensure business objectives are met and that the team have regular catch ups and development plans.
- Creating monthly reporting recap of key findings, results and new developments and present to Senior Leadership.
- Proactively leading the use of data and analysis to maximise performance to drive sales, profitability and margin
KEY SKILLS
- A minimum of 5-7 years experience as a Buyer, preferably with Australian Luxury Designers and/or in-house Design team
- A minimum of 2 years managerial experience in a similar role
- Previous experience with AP21, JOOR, Style Arcade preferable
- Exceptional commercial and analytical acumen with proven success to execute buying strategies to effectively drive the financial goals of the business in a fast pace, dynamic environment
- Thorough knowledge and experience in buying, planning and stock management with proven success in ranging improvements
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and coach a high performing team and build collaborative internal relationships
- Understanding of the fashion and activewear market, with the ability to interpret trends and build ranges to ensure brand cohesion
- Ability to evaluate financial indicators and translate data into actionable direction to drive sales and profitability
- Strong numeric and analytic aptitude, including in-depth understanding of the Open-To-Buy and the financial metrics that drive it
- Proficient in excel; demonstrated aptitude leveraging and learning new technology and tools
- Strong ability to apply logic and interpret qualitative and quantitative data to solve problems and make informed decisions
- Outstanding communication skills to build collaborative, cross-functional partnerships, and present information in a compelling and influential manner
- Self-motivated attitude with the ability to work well to deadlines and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently
- Collaborative, with strong interpersonal skills and team-orientation
