Role Description

As our Creative Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing and art directing seasonal campaigns for R.M.Williams across film, photography and digital channels.

From campaign ideation to on-set direction, you will lead the creation of film, photography, digital content and integrated storytelling that spans from brand awareness through to conversion.

Working closely with the Head of Creative, you’ll translate campaign briefs and seasonal direction into compelling visual concepts and art directed outputs, bringing the spirit of R.M.Williams to life across all touchpoints.

This is a role for an experienced Art Director with strong conceptual thinking and a sharp eye for visual craft, who knows how to build stories that resonate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop compelling campaign concepts and creative territories aligned to briefs and brand direction.
  • Lead creative development across film, photography, social, digital and retail storytelling.
  • Present ideas and creative assets confidently to key stakeholders.
  • Use insights across brand, digital performance, sales and customer behaviour to continuously optimise content.
  • Work within and elevate the R.M.Williams storytelling framework to ensure consistency across all channels.
  • Translate seasonal direction, cultural insights and product stories into engaging creative ideas.
  • Partner with Brand Design, Brand Environment and cross‑functional teams to unify narrative, spatial and visual storytelling.
  • Ensure tone and message reinforce the brand’s values and long‑term positioning.
  • Collaborate with Social + Motion Creative to develop short‑form content, motion ideas and platform‑native storytelling.
  • Lead art direction across film and photography shoots — from briefing and storyboarding to on‑set execution.
  • Oversee editing and post‑production to ensure brand tone, rhythm and emotion are achieved.
  • Partner with design teams to ensure creative consistency across paid, owned and digital touchpoints.
  • Work with Marketing, Digital and Customer teams to align creative output with go‑to‑market priorities.
  • Collaborate with eCommerce to ensure storytelling extends across digital shopping environments.
  • Uphold creative excellence, brand craft and continuous innovation across all creative outputs.

 

KEY SKILLS

  • This role is suited to a mid-to-senior level Art Director looking to lead campaign development and visual storytelling.
  • 5-8 years experience in Art Direction or integrated campaign development, ideally within fashion, lifestyle or premium retail.
  • A portfolio showcasing integrated campaigns, storytelling, and high-calibre creative execution.
  • Experience directing photographers, videographers and editors.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote or equivalent tool.
  • A skilled storyteller with excellent creative writing and messaging capability.
  • Confident leading film, photography and digital content production.
  • Well‑versed in digital culture, content trends and user behaviour.
  • A collaborative, inspiring communicator who thrives in cross‑functional environments.
  • Passionate about design, culture and the evolving landscape of brand storytelling.
