Join icon fashion house Aje as a Design & Production Manager for our Aje Athletica and Aje Studio brands at our Aje Head Office in Redfern.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with relevant team members to ensure seasonal timelines are maintained according to the company-wide Critical Path, while seamlessly overseeing multiple seasons at one time.
- Responsible for the entire production schedule of delivering seasonal, monthly, and additional orders on time without any delay according to Aje and each wholesale accounts final launch dates.
- Management of production across all purchase orders, ensuring potential issues or concerns are communicated to key stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Work closely with design, buying and merchandising team to ensure quality-level products are delivered and price architecture for development is in line with the company expectations and parameters.
- Negotiate with local and offshore manufacturers to improve production costing and margins.
- Oversee the relationships between GTs and Product Teams to ensure all technical specs are clear and any measurement requests are consistent with the standard measurements.
- Ensuring the request, inspecting and assessing pre-production and shipment samples with the tech team. Manage and resolve any issues that could impact delivery.
- Attend production fit sessions to monitor production progress.
- Ensure Pre-Production and Shipment sample comments are processed within an acceptable timeframe.
- Manage any quality issues and faulty garments to ensure delays are kept to a minimum.
- Oversee the product development process of various categories according to the brand standards for design, quality, fit, sustainability, pricing structure and margins.
- Accountable for ensuring all development deadlines are met and in adherence with the critical path, prioritizing workflow under the guidance of the Chief Merchandise Officer of Design & Production.
- Responsible for fabric and trims sourcing and developments that meet design, quality, sustainability, price, margin targets and goals.
- Overseeing the creation & flow of all tech packs, including cover sheets and BOMs, and maintaining accuracy throughout the development process until production sign off.
- Ensure all design, fit, trim, technical construction, finishings and reference information are clearly explained in the tech packs.
KEY SKILLS
- Minimum 5-7 years in production experience, preferably within fashion or apparel industries.
- Proven ability to lead and develop production teams.
- Skilled in managing end-to-end supply chain processes, including supplier negotiations and logistics.
- In-depth understanding of garment construction, manufacturing processes, and textiles.
- Strategic Thinking – Align production strategies with business goals, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address production challenges and streamline operations.
- Experience overseeing production budgets and optimizing costs while maintaining quality.
