Role Description

BREAD is a next-generation haircare brand, distributed in Sephora USA (.com and 200+ doors), and breadbeautysupply.com. Our mission is to become the staple of every coily, curly, wavy, and afro-haired humans haircare wardrobe. The basics. The must-haves. Just like bread. BREAD was launched to the world in exceptional circumstances, against all odds (hello, global pandemic), and we carry that ‘push forward’ mentality into our company culture. We are a nimble team, working in a flat hierarchy where all hands are on deck, and every voice is heard.

Reporting to the brands Marketing Manager, you’ll help to drive our content and social strategy across all channels, with a focus on design, art direction, and total brand content management, including social, influencer, editorial & product.

Given the hybrid nature of this role, we expect some skills and competencies to be developed on the job, and we’re looking to grow and develop the right candidate. However, technical graphic design qualification/s or experience are a must.

Key Responsibilities

DESIGN AND CONTENT MANAGEMENT

You’ll be making cOnTeNt, and lot’s of it!

  • You’ll be in charge of helping us to craft content that educates, delights, and surprises our audience on a daily basis.
  • You’ll immerse yourself in the brand TOV, positioning, product science, and education to inform well-crafted, engaging content that reflects the brand tone across touchpoints, including owned commerce, media platforms, and retail partners.
  • In addition to the everyday design needs of the business (i.e. packaging artwork, digital assets like email, outdoor campaigns, social content, and concept development), you’ll also lead our social and digital content production – from low-fi to high-fi, UGC to photoshoots.
  • You’ll own the content management for our retail channels, helping to conceptualize and execute product marketing needs for new launches, and ongoing support.
  • You must have a great eye, understand fashion and market trends, and be able to intuitively capture the BREAD brand essence.

 

SOCIAL AND INFLUENCER MANAGEMENT

We believe that design and social management are symbiotic, and inherently interlinked. As our go-to person for content development and production, your eye will help to guide not just general graphic design for the brand, but also the influencers we work with and the content that they produce to help communicate the brand proposition.

  • You’ll lead on copy and overall strategy and implementation of all social channels outside of Instagram (i.e. Youtube, Twitter, Tiktok, Pinterest, Retail pages, and the soon to be revealed BREAD blog)
  • You’ll also take charge of managing our Influencer & #BREADHEAD communities, crafting and growing our Ambassador program, plus implementing our always-on and one-off campaigns. You’ll implement our organic and paid influencer partnerships – from community management through to content briefing and vetting to build out a strong, complementary pipeline of content.

 

PRODUCT AND MARKETING MANAGEMENT

As an integral part of the team, you’ll step in to assist along the path to launch new products, campaigns, and ideas.

  • As a fast-moving startup business, you must be ok with ambiguity, and rapid changes. As part of a small but growing team, we all chip in on functions that sometimes fall out of our day-to-day.
  • We’re agile and nibble, but we’re also incredibly diligent and passionate about the brand we’re building – and everyone on the team is in the trenches together, from admin to CEO.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2-4 years in Design, Creative Management, Art Direction, and or Marketing role
  • Design, Typography, and branding skills
  • Degree or qualification in Graphic Design, Marketing or something similar preferred
  • You must be a self-starter and self-motivated to lead your own tasks.
  • In addition to Microsoft, must have experience in and a working knowledge of major design programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate, InDesign), and be versed in all applicable file formats
  • Experience and familiarity with Canva is a plus
  • Must have experience with press proofing and start to end print execution
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required
  • Experience in 3D rendering is not required but a massive plus
