Role Description

In a refreshed team structure, this is a new role at Oroton that leads Merchandise Planning for all categories and channels. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer the role leads a team of 4 planners and analysts and will be accountable for developing and executing merch planning strategies that maximise sales and margin. The successful person in this role will be a key stakeholder in ownership of inventory management across the business. Working alongside the buying, production, logistics and design teams this role will be a critical lynch pin in the Oroton growth journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop short and long term strategies and seasonal plans aligned with business goals for growth and market trends
- Ownership of inventory and stock levels across all Oroton channels to ensure the right product mix is available in the right location
- Lead financial planning activities, working closely with the commercial finance team and others to set business targets and promotional calendar
- Utilise data driven insights to drive demand forecasting, trend analysis and identify opportunities
- Support future state thinking through a close collaboration with design and production teams to ensure future ranges are meeting business needs
- Lead a group of planners and invest in their growth to support career development in-house
KEY SKILLS
- 3-5 years’ experience in a senior merchandise planning role or Head of position, ideally in a premium fashion environment
- Proven track record developing and executing effective merchandise strategies
- A strong understanding of fashion cycles, trends and consumer behaviours that will underpin decision making and promote thoughtful debate
- Expertise in merch planning tools,. and ideally experience in implementation and roll out of new tools and software related to merch planning
- Strong analytical skills and an ability to tell the story in a way that is compelling and achieves buy-in cross functionally
- Ability to balance creativity and commercial business strategy
- A considered approach to stakeholder management and engaging the relevant teams for various initiatives
- Leadership skills that nurture talent and provide growth opportunities
