Role Description
We’re seeking an inspired, brand-aligned Junior Buyer to join us on a fixed-term basis for 12 months to deliver collections that are true to the by charlotte style, commercially aware, and of high quality. In this role, you’ll create meaningful experiences for our community, inspire connection, and bring the by charlotte spirit to life in everything you do.
As a Junior Buyer, you will assist in ensuring product ranges resonate with customer demand while driving range profitability through strategic sourcing, skillful negotiation, and margin management. You’ll identify and support product opportunities in partnership with Design and Planning teams, and suppliers, shaping collections that support by charlotte’s commercial goals and brand vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the commercial management of product ranges, supporting assortment, pricing, and inventory decisions.
- Maintain accurate product documentation, purchase orders, and stock records.
- Monitor market trends, customer behaviour, and competitor activity to provide insights for product and pricing decisions.
- Assist with seasonal assortment planning and Open-to-Buy (OTB) processes.
- Support in-season and post-season performance analysis, preparing reports and recommendations.
- Collaborate with Design, Planning, Production, Marketing, and eCommerce teams to support product launches.
- Assist in managing supplier communications and tracking orders to ensure on-time delivery.
- Support sourcing activities and sample development in partnership with the Production team.
- Help maintain strong supplier relationships to support reliable supply chains.
- Identify opportunities to improve merchandising processes and contribute to efficient workflows.
KEY SKILLS
- 1-3 years relevant buying experience, with a strong understanding of both creative and commercial processes.
- Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments and meeting deadlines.
- Good negotiation and communication skills and willingness to learn from internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in assortment planning, product life cycle management and supplier relations.
- Strong analytical skills, with a track record of using data to inform buying and merchandising decisions.
