Due to significant growth, we have an exciting new opportunity in our Merchandise Planning team!

Reporting to the Merchandise Planning Director, this role is responsible for driving the merchandise strategy and optimising inventory to meet and exceed financial goals.

The Junior Merchandise Planner must be highly analytical, providing in-season financial projections and strategies, while identifying risks and opportunities to maximise profits. They are responsible for providing store allocators with the necessary guidance and direction to help them achieve objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expand Uniqlo ‘Lifewear’ concept by providing customer satisfaction via our product.
  • Understanding opportunities in Australian market by working with various departments/members of our Global Headquarters/Production/Factory, to maximise sales and fulfil customer satisfaction.
  • Build financial sales, gross margin and inventory plans on a weekly basis at item level.
  • Create pricing strategy by item that maximises sales and gross profit.
  • Reforecast business in-season based on current performance, present revised projections and recommendations to cross functional partners and senior leadership
  • Create allocation strategies, incorporating the merchandise plan and flow strategy to meet store inventory needs.
  • Create and plan product assortments (item, color, size) for each product category.
  • Manage replenishment plans to ensure that sales are optimised, and stores are without missing SKUs.
  • Place orders for both seasonal and replenishment product buys.
  • Collaborate with cross functional departments, ie. Marketing and Store Operations, to ensure success of product strategies
  • Proactively listening to the voice of customer and our store members, to find new opportunities and to provide appropriate product line up.
  • Work with visual merchandisers to execute monthly layouts across different store formats.
  • Generate reports as requested by business partners, or senior executives.

 

KEY SKILLS

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in planning/merchandising/allocation is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Excellent analytical ability; Quick learner.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects effectively
  • Sense of urgency and accuracy
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to cross cultural environments.
