The Junior Product Designer will play an essential role in designing and developing innovative, high-quality collections that reflect Hommey’s unique style and connect with our customers, working in close collaboration with the Design Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative individual to contribute to a fast-growing brand, balancing imaginative design with commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Create innovative and commercially viable product designs that align with Hommey’s vision, target market, and quality standards
- Build strong relationships with factories and suppliers, negotiating costs and timelines effectively
- Research global trends and local markets to inform and inspire design directions
- Conduct competitor analysis to ensure Hommey’s products stand out with a unique edge
- Manage the product development process from concept to in-store, meeting deadlines and margin goals while proactively addressing risks
- Demonstrate strong technical knowledge across various product types
- Develop detailed tech packs, including measurements, construction details, and fabric/trim specifications
- Deliver clear and engaging range presentations to the broader team, including CEO, marketing, finance, and operations
- Collaborate with the Product Technician to uphold quality standards and meet legal requirements
KEY SKILLS
- 2-3 years’ experience in product design, ideally in homewares or a related field
- Excellent communication skills to share and explain design concepts
- Familiarity with garment patterns, product packaging, and labelling
- A knack for balancing creativity with commercial practicality
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud or similar design software
