Role Description
A fantastic opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Design and Product Developer. This is a varied role with true career potential and lots of opportunity to grow and learn. Nip Tuck Swim is an Australian based volume swimwear brand, passionate about creating timeless classic women’s swimwear that enhances, supports and shapes feminine curves. We wholesale product globally and are looking for an organised, efficient, hands on and positive go-getter with great attention to detail to join our talented and friendly team. Key Responsibilities
- Working closely with the Brand Manager to continue and build on the amazing global brand journey.
- Design and develop product under a branded guideline in time and within the critical path.
- Maintaining a strong awareness of all global competitors and the marketplace.
- Present trend/concept boards and colour palettes with key silhouettes.
- Sourcing fabrics, trims and yardage prints.
- Creating detailed garment sketches (CADs).
- Manage all aspects of design to uphold brand DNA, maintain innovation and excellence in line with cost and profit targets including negotiation of costings with factories.
- Liaise with factories throughout the production phase in a timely manner to ensure quality and design is maintained.
- Send design sheets in line with and always adhering to the critical path.
- Ensuring sample and fit approvals are inline to meet our high-quality standards.
- Manage and conduct sample fittings with garment tech to ensure perfect fit and that the team achieve targets and strategic goals.
- Lab Dip and strike off approvals.
- Ticketing and barcode artwork approvals.
- Create look books, product manuals and design presentation booklets.
- Communicate with buyers for major development accounts and source new markets and accounts.
- Working to a critical path timeline is of high priority.
KEY SKILLS
- 3+ years experience in a fast-paced Designer/Product developer role.
- A passion for swimwear and a strong work ethic.
- Reliable, efficient with exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong planning abilities to think 12 months ahead to project trends, sales and market needs.
- Creative thinker where your originality shines through in your design work.
- Relationship and communication oriented to foster positive relations with team and customers, where you can communicate needs and problems to timely resolution.
- Proficiency with Adobe InDesign and Excel.
- Experience with dealing with offshore suppliers with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work to deadlines and follow the critical path.
- Self-motivated and the ability to work unsupervised or collaboratively within a team.
- Previous experience in swim would be advantageous.
