We’re looking for a passionate Merchandiser to join us from our newly expanded head office in Rosebery, Sydney. Reporting to our Production Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for providing production, merchandising and general admin support to the Production Manager as well as assisting across multiple functions of the off-shore production cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in fittings for new collections, taking notes on changes & alterations required
  • Cross check teck packs to ensure any changes/alterations are captured in the teck pack prior to sending to offshore supplier
  • Raise new PO and update changes in AP21 and the production schedule to replicate these changes
  • Manage production process for capsule collections to ensure lab dips, bulk fabric shipping sample, bulk fabric colour batches, fit sample, PP sample, shipping sample, and trim/accessories samples for approval are received & approved in line with timeline requirements
  • Update production schedule on daily basis – including, date of fabric lab dip/strike off/ fit sample/pp sample/shipping sample/rejection/approval date
  • Liaise with Pattern Makers on alterations required. Arrange samples along with comments, approval and pattern to be sent to offshore suppliers
  • Email offshore suppliers on comments & approval of bulk fabric, trim and accessories
  • Keep record of approved bulk fabrics, linings, shipping samples, and batch colours for each PO to build library
  • Ensure bulk deliveries are meeting the required IWDs
  • Check bulk packing list against ordered units and enter into production schedules
  • Keep track of fabric usage
  • Keep record in library of approved fabric and approved colour batch by PO
  • Create mini boards for collections, with updated IWDs and production status
  • Arrange cut sheet and customer by colour batch to minimise bulk fabric colour batch variance
  • Check bulk fabric submissions against the PO for weight, usable width and any other specifications set out on the PO ensuring all details are recorded on the fabric header
  • Ensure all bulk-packing lists are checked against the respective PO for any variance in units by size and total prior to bulk goods arriving into the warehouse. Communicate shortages to the Production Manager / sales team in order for them to action and re-make/refill with suppliers. Update the Production Schedule with final units and issue updated PDF of the PO to the warehouse and production teams prior to the bulk IWD
  • Create mini boards for new orders raised
  • Provide general admin support across the department and team including; data entry, filing, and archiving in order to maintain a clean and organised office environment

 

KEY SKILLS

  • Diploma or degree in fashion
  • 3-5 years experience in production merchandising
  • Strong knowledge of patternmaking, garment specs and garment construction
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Strong computer skills working with AP21 or similar garment production software as well as Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Experience in Photoshop and Illustrator is an advantage
  • Must be well organised and efficient with excellent time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Ability to work within a team and adhere to tight deadlines
  • Mandarin speaking essential
