Role Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Footwear Designer to join the team on our mission to save the planet… but make it fashion.
We’re looking for a designer who
- Cares about the planet and is excited by our mission to create positive change in the fashion industry
- Has 3+ years experience designing footwear
- Is passionate about creating quality products that are made to last
- Has their finger on the pulse and understands trend
- Is organised and can work to calendars/deadlines
- Is creative and thinks outside the box
- Approaches challenges with a can-do attitude
- Is excited about working alongside a kind and passionate team
Key Responsibilities
Design
- Thoughtfully designing new footwear to sit alongside our current offering
- Continuing to tweak existing footwear designs based off customer/team feedback and new sustainability practices
- Inserting colour in our footwear ranges for newness twice yearly
- Trend forecasting where relevant for TWOOBS
- Collaborating with brands on capsule collabs
- Sometimes: designing and developing thoughtful product lines outside of shoes ie keyring, tote bag, socks
Production Management
- Working closely with the factory
- Receiving, providing feedback, and signing off on samples
- Keeping the factory accountable to timelines
- Material research and establishing relationships with new suppliers
- Ensuring QC has all relevant information ahead of inspection
- Working to resolve any issues that arise in production
- Occasionally going to China to visit factories/suppliers
Sustainability
- Researching and staying up to date with best sustainability practices
- Staying up to date with innovations and new materials available on the market
- Making recommendations based on research + costings
- Working to ensure that where possible, best practice is being implemented throughout the design process

Hey, we’re Twoobs. We’re kinda a footwear brand. But kinda not really. See, we didn’t agree with the way most shoes were being created. So we decided to create something, well, kinder.
Twoobs was launched in 2016 back when the word vegan made people shudder, and since then we’ve grown a lot, but one thing hasn’t changed: We create shoes that are better. Better for your feet, better for all beings, and better for the planet. Sound like your kinda brand? Twoobs is not your average fashion business, because we’re not just a business with values… we are our values, with the environment sitting at the heart of everything that we do.
The role is 3 days a week, and will be 1 day from home, 2 days from our Richmond office in Victoria. Women, non-binary, BIPOC, and people of diverse age, abilities and backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
