Role Description
CAMILLA is on the hunt for a Sourcing & Product Development Manager to join our Design Tribe!
In this pivotal role, you will work collaboratively alongside the Design Team to ensure that seasonal collections are developed in line with the creative vision and delivered on the critical path. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end product development process, from initial concept to final production, ensuring quality, innovation, and commercial viability.
Your expertise in sourcing, supplier negotiation, and timeline management will be key in bringing our collections to life while maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Researching and investigating new suppliers as required seasonally to maintain market edge with fabric and trim offering.
- Always being at the forefront of new technological developments in fabrics and trims across a global supply base.
- Liaison for sourcing packs with external suppliers.
- Maintaining and management of seasonal and core fabric library.
- Ensuring newly sourced fabric and trim are in line with pricing architecture in collaboration with Buying and Design.
- Ensuring newly sourced fabric and trim are tested and meet business quality standards.
- Assist with day-to-day supplier communication.
- Running weekly Design and Production meetings with internal stakeholders.
- Oversee new style development as well as design and sampling Critical Path.
- Scheduling Range Review ensuring key stakeholders are present; booking fit models and ensuring all feedback is documented and communicated across key departments.
- Collaborate with Patternmaking/Garment Tech. teams to ensure fit and quality standards are met.
- Management of Product Development Team.
- Management of Critical Path for Design Team.
- Drive critical path dates to ensure project timelines are met.
KEY SKILLS
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Hold Degree in a fashion design from a respected Australian or international institution.
- Excellent technical knowledge and understanding of garment construction, fit, finish and pattern making across multi-product categories.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Exceptionally well organised with the ability to problem solve efficiently and work reactively to change.
- Demonstrated knowledge of fabrics and trims and a keen interest in fashion.
- Demonstrates a “hands-on” proactive approach.
- Thrives working in a fast-paced team environment.
- Continuously strive for innovative and beautiful finishes and techniques in all clothing.
- Computer skilled, particularly in Microsoft Office, Photoshop and Illustrator.
