Role Description
Bond-Eye Australia has an amazing opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Garment Technician. Your responsibility will be to ensure that our designs are as immaculate in fit and quality as they can possibly be. This is a part time role, preferably 3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Creation of design sheets, patterns, garment and graded specs
- Measure and fit of all pre-production, shipping and bulk samples according to set grading and quality standards and preparing clear comments for factories
- Ensure the factories uphold garment tech specs by giving clear fit comments and instructions, raising issues and escalating where needed
- Resolve fitting issues and assist designer by problem solving and reengineering the garments as needed
- Follow the critical path timeline
- Ensure garments are within accepted tolerances
- Manipulate CADs to support technical information
- Creating and maintaining garment blocks (sizes, structures and standards) so they can be reused for future collections
- Monitor and maintain fit construction and workmanship to ensure consistency across all factories
- Liaising with suppliers and maintaining relationships through clear communication
- Implementing and improving processes with suppliers to increase efficiency and quality.
KEY SKILLS
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in swimwear or lingerie
- Proven experience in creating high quality specs, tech packs and grading sheets.
- Excellent time management, organisational and multitasking skills
- Proven experience and knowledge of fabrics, pattern making and garment construction.
- Proven ability to do size grading.
- Experience in communicating effectively and meaningfully with offshore suppliers
- Proven ability to self-manage your time and adhere to critical deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbally, written and visually) within the product team and with other teams within the company.
- Required skills – Excel & Adobe Illustrator- entry level for CAD amendments.
- Unrestricted work rights in Australia
