Role Description

Responsible for the selection, curation, buying and trading of the Womenswear Apparel department, Incu is looking for a dynamic Buyer and champion of company culture to inspire our team and lead by example as we enter an exciting new growth phase. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering season on season growth in a medium to large retailer, be familiar with our brand mix and market, and is well versed in e-commerce. You are exceptional in your ability to forecast market trends and are the first to pick up on the next big thing, whilst also maintaining a highly curated brand mix. You have sound commercial experience and deeply understand your business by the numbers which enables you to set the strategy to scale the business. You are customer-obsessed, a high performer, have an unequivocal eye for product whilst also being a commercially focused trader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience at a senior buyer level or higher in a contemporary fashion multi-door, omni-channel retailer of a medium to large size
  • You possess a high level of product and market knowledge, with the ability to apply and implement innovative growth strategies around this
  • A proven track record of successfully managing, developing and mentoring a direct report or team
  • You have extensive experience in managing your OTB and order-books and have a fastidious eye for detail – you cross your t’s and dot your i’s and ensure your buy is accurately aligned with the OTB plan.
  • Experience in managing and identifying core product lines
  • Display a high level of commercial acumen with the trading of your business on a weekly basis – you interpret results to identify problems and opportunities and set measurable actions around these
  • You clearly articulate your results across the business, what they mean for your business and set a course of action based on this
  • You have a proven track record of building and maintaining strong supplier relationships. You are a strong negotiator and focused on achieving mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • You have a strong presence with our store teams and regularly visit stores to observe customer shopping habits and receive real-time feedback from the front line. Whilst being globally aware, you are in tune with what is happening in our backyard.
  • Well versed in collaborating with department heads on forecast and OTB reviews, and your strong knowledge of your category sees you contribute significantly to mapping out a strategy to deliver results
  • Lead end of season reviews for your department, where you can clearly articulate your learnings and the application of these learnings for the season ahead
  • Drive weekly trade meeting agenda for your category and display a deep and clear understanding of your results – you identify the opportunities in your department, and implement the necessary actions to pursue them
  • The ability to implement a graded buying strategy across the Incu store network for our diverse customer-base
  • You are a well-rounded team player that can adjust to the task at hand and are no afraid to roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to get the job done and deliver results.
