Ling Ang Exhibition at Le Space
Nov 07 -
Nov 24

A dreamscape installation.
Singaporean-Australian artist, filmmaker and philanthropist, Ling Ang, has opened a debut exhibition in Melbourne’s new multidisciplinary artist’s hub, Le Space.
Located in Collingwood, the site will house Ang’s unique exhibition titled Souvenirs of Sleep that delves into the subconscious mind.
Putting aside filmmaking skills, Ang channels a keen eye for set design and storytelling to vividly recall dreams, unconscious thought and exploration.
A year ago, the artist began documenting and exploring their thoughts using the ‘notes’ app on their iPhone to scribble every thought, vision and daze.
From this idea, Ang has transformed Le Space into a childlike bedroom – decorating the walls with vivid transcriptions of dreams and unconscious thoughts.
They hope that by sharing thoughts and reflections, observers might become part of what the artist refers to as a multi-conscious dream space, where a viewer’s subconscious experiences become intertwined in those of onlookers.
Ling Ang’s Souvenir’s of Sleep is available for viewings by appointment at Le Space until November 24. To book an appointment, contact Le Space here.
