FJ Book Club: Dark Emu

Aug 13

Important reading.

Dark Emu by Bruce Pascoe, a storyteller of Bunurong and Yuin descent, calls for a reconsideration of the ‘hunter-gatherer’ label given to pre-colonial Aboriginal Australians.

Offering a new perspective on Australia’s past, Bruce uses compelling evidence from the diaries of early settlers to explain the often overlooked and understated complexities of Aboriginal food production and land management systems.

It’s time for some serious learning and unlearning.

Our book club meet for Dark Emu will be held on Zoom, starting at 6.30pm on the dot. When the time comes, you can join the meet at Meeting ID 790 8972 0405 or head here.
